POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY
I was part of the team behind the Boston Globe's investigative series and podcast on the Charles Stuart case, which won a 2024 IRE award for longform audio journalism and an Edward R. Murrow award in news documentary.
In Miami, my reporting on the rapid rise — and troubles — of a South Miami police lieutenant prompted a review of his work, and he subsequently took a reduction in duties and pay.

GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY
My reporting on alleged abuse and financial mismanagement at the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind was followed days later by the state commissioner’s resignation.
As a political reporter in Florida, I broke the story that Florida’s top domestic violence nonprofit — and the largest such state-based organization in the country — was flouting state efforts to audit its suspiciously high executive salaries with little consequence. A few weeks later, the highly paid head of the organization stepped down. This and additional Herald reporting helped trigger changes to state law, several investigations and lawsuits into the group’s mismanagement of government funds, and ultimately its dissolution.

NATURAL DISASTERS
After my reporting on a mental health crisis among the Panhandle's children post-Hurricane Michael, the First Lady of Florida announced state and federal officials were sending millions in additional aid to the region to help improve access to counseling and behavioral health services.

I’ve also assisted with long-term projects including the Washington Post's series on Shaken Baby Syndrome and the Miami Herald's award-winning series on abuse in Florida's juvenile prisons.
